The Rose
Kyubey teleported into a dark chapel. In the middle of the chapel there were three coffins with a rose symbol on the lid. They were all closed except one and the person who resided in that coffin was his target for the day.
He ran over to the open coffin, jumped and perched on the edge of it and looked down. The coffin was filled with pink roses and in the middle of the roses was a pink haired little girl.
“What are you doing in there?” he asked her.
The little girl didn’t acknowledge his existence at first but when she did, she opened her eyes and looked at him with sad gaze.
“Hey,” murmured little girl, “Are you a god of death?”
Kyubey let a small giggle “Oh no. I’m not a god of death! I am a messager of magic and I’m here to grant you any wish that you desire!”
“Any wish? I could wish for my parents to come back?”
“If that is what you want. If you make a contract with me you will become a puella magi and-”
Kyubey paused. He felt the presence of another human in the chapel. No, whoever was in here with them was not a human being but something greater than a mere human.
Soon there was the sound of footsteps approaching and then a person, a dark skinned boy with light purple hair and in a white princely uniform walked out of the shadows and towards the coffin. The little girl turned and faced the newcomer.
“Who is he? Is he a friend of yours?”
“I am no friend of his,” said the new person in a regal voice as he came to a stop next to the coffin.
The princely being and Kyubey stared into each others eyes, green clashed with red, for several moments before Kyubey closed his eyes in defeat. “I see. I will take my leave then.” He lept off of the coffin and ran a little to put some distance between himself , the coffin, and the prince.
“It seems you were not destined to make a contract with me but for something else,” Kyubey said. “I wish you good luck Utena Tenjou.”
