LET'S COOK!

I'm having trouble posting the pictures I took of the steps, so no pictures this time. They will probably up later.

Ingredients
For the filling
Ground Pork
Coarsely Chopped Shrimp
Powdered Ginger
1 tablespoon of sugar
A dash of salt and pepper
A dash of soy sauce or oyster sauce
A dash of olive oil or sesame oil
1 egg
1 teaspoon of chopped onion
1 teaspoon of chopped garlic

For the dough
Note: You can go out and buy the dumpling/wonton wrappers from a grocery store
2 cups of flour
1/2 cup of water

Directions

You are going to make the dough first. Combine the flour and water and mix them together. Then you are going to knead the dough. Watch the video if you don't know how.

After this is done, let the dough chill in the fridge while you work on the filling.

If you have not done so, chop up the shrimp into coarse pieces. Then put the pieces into a large bowl.

Next, add the pork, the onion, and the garlic to the bowl. Do not mix yet.

Then add the powdered ginger (add as much as you want), the sugar, the salt, and the pepper. Once again, do not mix yet.

Finally, add the olive oil, soy sauce, and the egg. Now mix it all together well.

Cover the bowl and let it marinade in the fridge for about one hour to an hour and a half.

After an hour take out the dough and the filling.

IF YOU BOUGHT THE WRAPPERS SKIP THIS STEP Lightly dust your counter with flour again and put the dough on the counter. Dust your hands and your rolling pin and begin taking small to medium pieces of the dough, rolling it into a ball and using the rolling pin to flatten the dough out until it is in a almost flat circle shape.

When it is flat circle or if you are using the wrappers, put some of the filling in the centre and then wet the edges of the wrappers. There are many different ways to fold the dumpling wrappers and here is a link to show you some of them

Repeat those last two steps until you are done or you have the number of dumplings you want to cook at that time.

Next, you want to fill a large pot half way up with water and put in a dash of salt and let it boil. Then add the dumplings. After one minute, reduce the heat to medium and let it simmer until the filling is cooked thoroughly. This should take about 3 to 5 minutes.

Use a straining spoon and take the dumplings out and put them on a plate or a bowl. Serve warm!

You can enjoy them with dipping sauces if you like!

With the dough and filling you didn't use, just put them back into the fridge and it is good for 3 days or just make more dumplings and just freeze them for later!
