It took me three months to spit this out of my brain. So I hope it's at least decent. Set right after this
Edo was intrigued at what he saw taking place on the roof.
He had only gone up to the roof to get some fresh air (and to escape from Ryo’s hospital room. He could not take looking at his pale form any longer.). Edo had half expected to find some busty nurse with a sickly and senile old man in a wheel chair talking about his glory days as fighter pilot in the War.
What he didn’t expect was to find two doctors dueling each other on the roof. He recognized both of the dueling doctors.
‘They’re Doctors Chase and Foreman who were on that team with the mousey Doctor Cameron and that bastard House,’ thought Edo, ‘But I would never guess that they knew how to duel. Maybe I’ll watch them just to see how good they really are.’ He snuck behind one of the huge air conditioning units that were on the roof so he could safely watch the duel without being discovered.
From what he saw, Doctor Foreman had three cards face down, two monsters in defense on the field, and had 2100 life points. Doctor Chase had no face downs, had a super charged Red Eyes Black Dragon with 3400 attack points on his field, and had 1600 life points left. It was Foreman’s turn.
“I sacrifice my Invader of the Throne and my Goddess of Whim to summon my Cosmo Queen in attack mode!” proclaimed Doctor Foreman as he placed the card on his duel disk ( The Battle City version, thought Edo) and a tall pale woman in a dark dress appeared on the roof.
“2900 Attack points?! Please you must be joking! With Red Eyes Black Dragon equipped with Dragon’s Treasure and Horn of the Unicorn, he overpowers your queen!” said Chase.
‘Idiot,’ thought Edo, ‘He has completely forgotten about the other cards. He’s such an amateur! But, on the other hand, this Dr. Foreman, however, is not. It seems like he knows the rules and how to better than Dr. Chase. His style is almost like a pro-leaguer. I wonder if he has ever dueled in a tournament before?’
“Right now he does but in a few moments he won’t!”
“What do you mean?” asked Chase. Then it hit him. “Your three face downs!”
“That’s right! First I activate the spell card Black Pendent which gives my queen the same attack points as your dragon!” Cosmo Queen attack points rose from 2900 to 3400.
“So what? Now they’re even.”
“That’s not all. Now I activate my next spell card Malevolent Nuzzler which raises her attack points to 4100!”
“No way! 4100 attack points!” cried Chase.
“Finally the icing on the cake that will allow me to end this duel is the trap card Spellbinding Circle, which cuts your dragons attack points in half all the way down 1700!”
“Oh no!”
“Oh yes! Now attack Red Eyes Black Dragon my Cosmo Queen!” The female monster formed a huge black ball teeming with dark magic in her hands and released it on the weakened dragon. The Red Eyes let out dying roar and then exploded, taking the rest of Chase’s life point with it. Chase collapsed on one knee with angry and defeated look on his face.
Edo was impressed. ‘Heh. It seems Dr. Chase didn’t even stand a chase with Dr. Foreman. From what I’ve seen, it seems Foreman is not an amateur but someone who has playing the game for a long time, he even has the duel disk to prove it! While Chase is such a beginner that some snot nosed kindergartner could beat him!’
“Heh. I won Chase and you remember our deal right?” asked Foreman mockingly.
“I remember,” he said grudgingly.
“Good. So now we go test that Macho Man for cancer not Diabetes, right?”
“Yes.”
“And you will also buy me lunch and dinner and call me The Great Doctor Foreman for an entire week, even in front of House?”
Edo had to suppress a chuckle.
“Yes, I will,” replied Chase through gritted teeth. Then he punched the ground. “Damn it! How come you always beat me?!”
Foreman chuckled. “I just have the skill for it. You don’t.”
“Or maybe it is because he was a tournament level duelist,” said Edo as he stepped away from his hiding place.
Both doctor turned to look at the newcomer. Chase had a look of surprise on his face, while Foreman’s eyes glared at Edo.
Edo brushed off the glare. ‘I’ve seen worse,’ he thought.
“You’re Edo Phoenix! The pro duelist who here with Mr. Marufuji, right?” asked Chase as rose from the ground. “And what do you mean by Foreman being a Tournament level duelist?”
“What I mean by that is that his duel disk is the kind that was only given out to those who received a special invitation from Seto Kaiba to participate in his exclusive tournament, Battle City. He only gave invitations to the best duelists at that time. So tell me, Doctor Foreman, how did it felt to get second place in the American tournament after being beat by a twelve year old?” asked Edo smugly.
“You shut up! You don’t know anything! You don’t know why I had to enter tournaments!” roared Foreman which made Edo’s eyes widened in surprise.
‘Is this a touchy subject for him?’ thought Edo.
Chase tried to console his colleague. “Now let’s calm down now, ok-”
“No! Just leave me alone!” said Foreman angrily before he started to walk to the door that leads to the stairwell. He stopped when he reached Edo and said in a cold and low voice, “Listen here you little punk. Just because your ‘friend’ in our care for a while does not mean we have to get along, got it?”
And then he just stalked away, leaving Chase And Edo with bewildered looks on their faces.
Unbeknownst to them, a dark shadow was watching the whole ordeal. It chuckled darkly at the scene in front of it.
“Interesting. It seems that there are more potential targets in this hospital than I thought. Heh heh heh.”
So Hate it? Love it? Want to throw it in the deepest pits of hell? Tell me.
